Norte Maar in collaboration with Jay Craft Center, Young's Studio & Gallery and Stoneledge Pottery presents the 1st Annual Au Sable River Valley Studio Tour, July 18 + 19, 2015.
Building upon the enthusiasm and history of the former Jay Studio Tour of the 1990s and 2000s, The Au Sable River Valley Studio Tour will include twenty-five artist studios and art spaces which will feature a wide range of creative artists living and working in the townships of the Au Sable River Valley including Keene Valley, Keene, Upper Jay, Jay, Wilmington and Au Sable Forks. Studios and art spaces will be open to the public from 10am-4pm on July 18 + 19.
An opening reception for the artists and the public will be held on Friday, July 17 from 6-9pm at the Jay House (35 Randy’s Lane, Jay). This opening celebration will be held in conjunction with the opening of Norte Maar’s 2nd Annual Jay Invitational of Clay that will include a weekend of programs and demonstrations including Raku firings, pit firings and alternative firing techniques conducted by the North Country Potters Guild. Joining us Saturday, July 18 will be Clay Hearth Pizza serving up their delicious wood fired pizza.
