NM announces call for site-specific dance project

Due to unexpected and massive street construction at performance site, this performance has been cancelled.CALL FOR DANCERSa guerilla ballet performance:La Baya-Bushwick:a site specific dancepresented by Norte Maar during Bushwick Open StudiosSaturday, June 1, 2013Norte Maar announces an open call for classically trained female dancers to perform Kingdom of the Shades (entrance choreography only) from La Bayadere on the streets of Bushwick. Must have prior knowledge of this choreography.In true guerrilla style, dancers will arrive on Saturday, June 1 at 12Noon to plot the performance that will be performed at 1pm and 1:30pm. All ages welcome but must have prior experience with this choreography.Dancers should wear white leotard, pink tights and pointe shoes that you don't mind wearing on the street (there is no jumping and very little work on full releve - just a few bourrees). Hair pulled back in a bun. Bring a white tutu, if you have it or white shirt.This is part of the Bushwick Open Studios and this event will be one of the main features of the neighborhood-wide event.This is a community-building event. No pay.
