NM welcomes new board member: Alejandro Jassan!
We are pleased to announce that Alejandro Jassan has joined the Norte Maar Board of Directors!
Alejandro brings years of experience in the visual arts from across the Americas. His knowledge and experience will strengthen the delivery of our mission and expand Norte Maar’s reach.
Alejandro Jassan is a Mexican curator and critic specializing in contemporary art. He currently serves as Associate Director at Alexander Gray Associates, New York, working in the area of public relations, marketing, communications and events for the Gallery’s programmatic and curatorial activities. He is a contributing writer for Elle Mexico and Quien magazines, and his texts have appeared in The Wild Magazine, Painting is Dead, The Coastal Post, Elle Man, and InFashion. As a curator, Jassan has organized multiple exhibitions, including the group exhibition Material Transaction and Michael Adno: Cracker Politics, both at Spring/Break Art Show (2015 and 2016). He is the co-founder and co-curator of COED Contemporaneo, a curatorial initiative that has played a robust role in furthering the artistic exchange between the United States and Mexico, where he co-curated I Will Stay Here…A Little Bit Longer, the first solo exhibition of work by artist Jorge Tellaeche in the United States. He holds a BA in Graphic Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City, and a MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, New York. He has worked as a designer and social media manager at The Water Tank Project, as assistant advisor to Fiore Art Advisory, and production assistant at Spring/Break Art Show, New York.
