To all our artists, collaborators, and supporters... all our best in 2017!

≈ LAST DAY TO GIVE IN 2016 ≈

In 2016 we did all of this!

Norte Maar

Norte Maar

One major loan exhibition in Midtown Manhattan featuring 25 emerging and established artists. Ways and Means: a new look at process and materials in art also featured 5 site-specific artist commissions.

Two Beat Nite Events featuring a late night gallery tour of 10 alternative spaces in Downtown Brooklyn and in Greenpoint Brooklyn. Beat Nite is a bi-annual event, held in continuity since 2009.

Two art exhibitions held at our project space in Cypress Hills in East New York, Brooklyn. This art space is the first of its kind in this Brooklyn neighborhood.

The 2nd Annual Au Sable River Valley Studio Tour featuring over 25 artist studios and art spaces in the townships of the Au Sable River Valley, NY.

The 3rd Annual Jay Invitational of Clay featuring over 35 local and regional selections of works in clay. Exhibition also included a weekend of demonstrations and workshops in clay for all ages.

The 4th Annual Dance at Socrates featuring 6 choreographic residencies and 3 weekend free public performances that included 12 dance companies and over 36 dancers. Dance at Socrates is produced in collaboration with Socrates Sculpture Park.

The 4th Annual CounterPointe Series featuring new choreography by 7 women choreographers and their collaborations with 7 artists.

And lastly, we reengaged our Free Kids Art Series hosting children ages 3-9 in a literacy and art program in Cypress Hills, East New York, Brooklyn.

You can still help programs like these continue and grow in 2017!

In 2016, the following Norte Maar programs, Beat Nite, Dance at Socrates, and CounterPointe, are supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in Partnership with the City Council.

Norte Maar's Dance at Socrates is funded in part by the Mertz Gilmore Foundation through a partnership with Socrates Sculpture Park.

Free Kids Art receives funding from the Local Arts Support program administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) funded by the Decentralization Program of New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

Thank you to all our 2016 contributors!
