An arts scene has been brewing in Bay Ridge! Now it's time to discover it! Norte Maar teams up with the creative team at the 7th Annual Storefront Art Walk (SAW) in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn to bring a special daylight edition of Beat Nite. We are calling it: Beat Nite Lite. We are excited to lead the charge out to Bay Ridge to support opening day of the SAW on Saturday, May 14. We've even chartered the Beat Nite Bus!

Enjoy the day on your own or join the Beat Nite Bus! Our chartered bus will depart Wyckoff Starr Coffee Shop in Bushwick (30 Wyckoff Ave) at 9:30am and arrive at Owl’s Head (479 74th Str) Bay Ridge. Includes a light brunch and private tour with the artists of the 7th Annual Storefront Art Walk. Bus will depart Owl’s Head at 1pm and return to Wyckoff Starr Coffee Shop in Bushwick.

About The Bay Ridge Storefront Art Walk (SAW):

SAW was created in 2010 by local artist and business owner John Avelluto (The Owl’s Head Wine Bar) and business owner Heather Hamilton (Long’s Wine & Liquors) as a way to showcase the diverse community of Bay Ridge and give it a unique platform for engagement and dialogue with the visual arts. By supporting and promoting emerging local artists and celebrating local Bay Ridge businesses, SAW broadly explores the intersection between commerce, art and community. While Bay Ridge is home to many artists, the neighborhood is under-served and underfunded in terms of public arts spending and grants. Learn more here.

About Beat Nite:

This is the 15th Edition of Beat Nite which began in February 2009, bringing awareness and access to the growing artistic community of Bushwick. Beat Nite has been recognized for putting the Bushwick art scene on the map and has gone on to thrive as a bi-annual event organized by Norte Maar’s Co-Founder / Director / Curator Jason Andrew. In the fall of 2015, Norte Maar launched a new initiative with the Beat Nite program to feature new emerging artistic communities in Brooklyn and beyond. Bay Ridge now joins the growing list of Beat Nite neighborhoods including Gowanus and Downtown Brooklyn! Beat Nite Lite is present in collaboration with SAW.
