Game on! Arts in Bushwick's Bushwick Open Studios (BOS) returns as a cultural phenomenon June 5-7, 2015 and includes over 500 individual studios, exhibitions and performances involving thousands of artists. This free event invites visual artists, performers, musicians, designers, and the public to celebrate creative expression in one of the most vital arts districts in the world. For full listing of artists studio and events click here.For its participation, NM will again host its 9th Annual Maps-N-Mimosas event celebrating the first day of Bushwick Open Studios, Saturday, June 6 from 11am-2pm.
On view at the apartment gallery will be a special exhibition titled, Hecho en Bushwick, which is a throwback to the first public exhibition at the apartment gallery held in 2008. The show is a “historic survey of over thirty artists who have contributed to the growth of Bushwick as an vibrant artistic community.” The exhibit will be on view during BOS weekend from 11am-7pm. Also on view will be an ambitious site specific installation by Carlton Scott Sturgill.
Additionally, NM partners with The Vazquez Building to host the BOS Rooftop Dance Party featuring music by DJ JoJoSOUL, beer by Bushwick's Braven Brewing Co. and our handsome doorman, Heath. $20 at the door / includes a drink ticket. $10 for artists listed in the BOS 2015 print issue. 21 and over.
