__________Norte Maar re-imagines the Beat Nite! For the 13th edition, Beat Nite sets its sights on a new part of Brooklyn featuring the artistic community of Gowanus! Beat Nite is the neighborhood-wide late night gallery hop recognized for putting Bushwick on the map. Join the throngs of art ponies who will ride out to discover the thriving art scene in Gowanus through a self-guided tour featuring 10 galleries and alternative art spaces.Beat Nite Gowanus will be held on Friday, October 16, 6-10pm and is presented in collaboration with Arts Gowanus. This event is held in anticipation of Gowanus Open Studios (Sat + Sun, Oct 17-18). Beat Nitebegan in 2009 and has continued as a bi-annual event organized by curator Jason Andrew. Check the website for maps (coming soon). After party at Gemini and Scorpio Loft (255 Douglass Street) 10pm-12am.

__________About Beat Nite:
Beat Nite made its neighborhood debut in February 2009, featuring all of Bushwick’s alternative art spaces and galleries—at the time, only seven. The event grew into a biannual occurrence offering an awesome neighborhood-wide event that many have labeled “half art stroll, half bar crawl.” With over 50 galleries and alternative spaces now in Bushwick/Ridgewood, beginning in 2012 a special guest curator was invited to select just 10 spaces from the community’s many great offerings. In the fall of 2015, Norte Maar launched a new initiative with the Beat Nite program to feature new emerging artistic communities in Brooklyn and beyond.
