Coming Soon to Cypress Hills Brooklyn!
2016 Program Schedule + Location
Join us for our once-a-month free children’s arts education program! Originally designed and created in 2009 in association with Bushwick Impact, a family and neighborhood support organization, as an effort to improve conditions for children and families in challenging city neighborhoods, Authors and Artists brings hands on experience in making and creating, reading and writing. Authors and Artists is a free monthly program that invites local professional artists, musicians, dancers, craft makers, architects, etc, to teach and explore books and the arts with the children and families in our neighborhood. Past participants have included Seth Caplan, Hermine Ford, Tamara Gonzales, Austin Thomas, and Audra Woloweic, among others.
From 2010-2013, Authors and Artists was presented in collaboration with the Bushwick Library. From 2010-2013 the program was sponsored in part by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs administered by the Brooklyn Arts Council, Inc. (BAC).
