The Return of the Brooklyn Performance Combine!
We are psyched to announce the return of our ambitious collaborative event The Brooklyn Performance Combine, a mashup of poets, painters, performers and this time includes aerialists and a meteorologist! The two-hour durational performance will take place at The MUSE on Saturday, June 3, 7-9pm. Check out whose performing!

Norte Maar announces a call for choreographers for its 5th Season of CounterPointe: new work by women choreographers and their collaborations with artists, April 7-9, 2017 at the Actor’s Fund Arts Center, Brooklyn.
NM's CounterPointe returns: new choreography by women for pointe
Coming this April, Norte Maar in collaboration with Brooklyn Ballet presents CounterPointe, the annual curated performance series featuring women choreographers making new work on pointe. CounterPointe is an annual performance series dedicated to presenting the latest experimental, innovative, risk-taking choreography that shows a depth of investment in ballet by women dance makers working with the pointe shoe. Investigating new and old territory the series highlights new work, opening up discussion, and creating a forum for women, young or old, emerging or established, to take risks.
NM announces open call to all young choreographers
Norte Maar is pleased to announce an open call to all young choreographers (Ages 13-18). Coinciding with Norte Maar's summer of dance at Socrates Sculpture Park, young choreographers are invited to apply for a week of mentorship . This program, part of Dance at Socrates, will choose one student for each week of August and at the end of the week their choreography will be presented to the public in performance. They will receive guidance from a professional choreographer and be given time to work on the main stage.
