Norte Maar announces a call for choreographers for its 5th Season of CounterPointe: new work by women choreographers and their collaborations with artists, April 7-9, 2017 at the Actor’s Fund Arts Center, Brooklyn.
Joining the growing list of dance luminaries that have included Karole Armitage, Antonia Franceschi, Claudia Jeschke, Kat Wildish and Gabrielle Lamb, Kathryn Posin will lead a talk back with choreographers presenting at CounterPointe 2016 following the Saturday, April 9 performance.
This Spring Norte Maar’s 4th Annual CounterPointe Series is all about collaboration with the work of seven female dance makers paired with seven visual artists on stage April 8-10 in downtown Brooklyn’s Actors Fund Arts Center.

London, UK – Norte Maar’s co-founder Julia Gleich, together with Briar Adams and the Conway Collective bring CounterPointe Shorts to London, England on Thursday 7 of May 2015 in London’s Conway Hall, Camden. CounterPointe Shorts will present works by series curator Julia K. Gleich (Gleich Dances), and Briar Adams (Hack Ballet) as well as new works by Sophie Adams and Aisling Cook (Ballet Ensemble London), Genevieve Grady, Deborah Kate Norris from Manchester and Elisabeth Schilling from Germany. There will be a post-performance discussion led by Antonia Franceschi who is well known for her master teaching, choreography and her career as a dancer with New York City Ballet and other companies, as well as her role in the movie “Fame.”
On April 9, 2015, Journalist David Levesley interviewed composer/pianist Elizabeth Myers in advance of the premiere of her new music/dance collaboration with choreographer Julia K. Gleich. Their collaboration a featured performance in Norte Maar’s CounterPointe3.
