“Don’t sleep in on these exhibits!” warns Courier Life‘s Aaron Short in his column for Brooklyn Daily. Short previewed Norte Maar’s first show of the year, Gʉilty / (NOT) Guilty, whose opening coincided with our annual New Years champagne brunch celebration.

The show, curated by Sarah Schmerler, of 45 Projects, features works by Ellen Letcher, Francesco Masci, Alfred Steiner, and Pablo Tauler. Friends of Norte Maar joined us to take in the broad spectrum of media presented in Schmerler’s show, as well as mimosas and an extensive brunch spread. “Guilty / (NOT) Guilty is an exceptionally strong art show featuring some of the neighborhood’s favorite artist,” writes Bushwick Daily‘s Katarina Hybenova in her piece covering the successful opening celebration. Hybenova included images of the work and artists behind it, more of which can be found here.

Curator Sarah Schmerler was featured on OZON Magazine‘s blog, with a preview of her show Gʉilty / (NOT) Guilty. “Turning guilt instead into a word synonymous with a gold surface,” writes OZON‘s Naya, “the exhibition explores the luster of an artist’s work in economic downtime and questions what makes a piece of art attractive in the eyes of society.”

The piece also mentions the online catalog developed by Schmerler’s 45projects collaborator Paolo Nosokas. Find it here.
