Bushwick’s premiere non-profit arts organization, Norte Maar, presents its 12th installment of Beat Nite, Friday, March 6. Heralded as the most underground, exciting, and fiercely independent, Beat Nite is a late night Bushwick-wide gallery night. This edition sponsored by Bushwick Daily and curated by critic Benjamin Sutton and features a range of the alternative and established. Don’t miss the art and the after party hosted by The Vazquez (93 Forrest Street) with Heath at the door, DJ CALLMEYO + DJ jojoSOUL spinning tunes, light installation by Julia Sinelnikova and Brooklyn Brewery on tap / $10.
About Guest Curator Benjamin Sutton:
Benjamin Sutton is an art critic, journalist, and curator based in Park Slope. He is the Metro Editor at Hyperallergic, and his articles on public art, artist documentaries, the tedium of art fairs, James Franco’s obsession with Cindy Sherman, and other divisive issues been published there and by Artnet, The L Magazine, Modern Painters, Art+Auction, BKLYNR, and Brooklyn Magazine, among others. He has curated exhibitions at Field Projects, the Spring Break Art Show, the Gowanus Loft, and the Lower East Side Printshop.
